Manzanilla Guest Cottage

Just like Coratina, the eco-friendly  Manzanilla self-catering Guest Cottage lies at the foothills of the Swartberg Mountains and has an awe-inspiring view of the Swartberg mountain, the Prince Albert Valley and the Kredouw Pass. The cottage has recently been restored and the restoration focused on making the cottage energy-sufficient so as to reduce energy consumption, water consumption and operating costs. The Manzanilla Guest Cottage is organic, green and most definitely eco-friendly. Minimum 2 night stay.

The cottage is solar driven and has a gas heater, an indoor fireplace, gas lamps and candles for back-up. The kitchen is fully equipped, with a gas fridge and stove. The shower has a solar geyser for hot water during the day. For days when the weather is cold and cloudy, there is a "donkey" which guests may use to light a fire in for hot water. This provides for a real "farm feeling" and an adventurous experience.

Manzanilla consists of one main bedroom for a couple ( queen size bed)

With no TV, cellphone reception or internet, guests are able to enjoy the stillness and majesty of the mountains and the pristine Karoo landscape in the most natural way possible.

If you do need to make contact with the outside world, though, guests are most welcome to use the Wi-Fi at the offices on the farm, which is about 1km from the cottage. There, you can also have some coffee and taste our olive oil, which we cultivate and press on the farm.

Unfortunately, no pets are allowed, due to our commitment to protecting the endangered species on the farm, including the Riverine Rabbit, which has been spotted on the farm. The cottage is situated in a sort of a sanctuary and we try to keep it unharmed and as unchanged as possible.

This also ensures that guests are able to experience nature at its finest.

Manzanilla is situaed next to the Coratina Guest Cottage and is built and maintained in the same way.
